Late Resolutions i.e. The Worst Doll Owner Ever

Hello. My name is Amanda and I am the worst ball jointed doll owner EVER. I have this horrible habit of buying a doll and then another doll and then another doll and they all sit there, faceless, wigless, clothesless. It's really sad. So I made a promise to myself that I will not buy any more dolls until all the ones I currently own are finished. (Like that's going to happen.)

But you see, I'm also a horrible procrastinator. Yeah, I make all of these plans to do something but when it comes to actually doing them? Well, let's just say follow through is not a strong trait of mine.

That's where this blog is going to come in. I made a checklist of all my dolls (below) and what I want to do for them/what they need. Right now it is super basic and super crappy quality (this is my first time, whatever). I figured as I start working on a doll then I can make a more detailed list for them. (Yes, you're counting correctly. There are 19 dolls on this list, not counting the floating heads, body and doll on layaway that are on the far right side. I told you, I HAVE A PROBLEM.)

To kick this off I figured I would start with my Realfee Mari that I've named Una. She's my newest doll and totally bare. I'm biased towards tinies, what can I say? Here's a really crappy picture of Una. Una is my little mer-creature.

Here is everything that Una needs to be complete:

  1. Back Story - I need to figure out her back story and how it intertwines with the stories of my other dolls. This isn't too important right now but I think it will help in the long run with her "look".
  2. Faceup - I really want to do something that shows she lived in dark, cold waters. I'm thinking gray, purple and blue for her colors.
  3. Wig - I've already started on a rooted wig using nylon hair for Una. The colors are dark purple, blue-green and lavender. The color so far is gorgeous.
  4. Body Blushing - Same coloring as her faceup. I really want to make her look like parts of her are scaled. If I can do it successfully I will mimic it in the face up.
  5. Clothes - I need something that makes her look like a little beach urchin. I looked on Pinterest for some inspiration and saw some really cute ideas. My sewing is not the best but I think I can manage it.
  6. Shoes - This is hard. Would a mer-creature wear shoes? Maybe on land and even then it would probably be something really basic and sandal like. Unless I somehow work it so she now lives on land.

On top of this I'm participating in a swap that is due March 5th. I really bit off more than I can chew I think.

I'm sure no one will ever read this but I plan on updating at least weekly even if it's just to admit that I was bad and didn't do anything. Wish me luck!
